Korean Week: Turning Gate

These are some caps from the Korean movie Turning Gate.

This week Korean actors were protesting about changes to the quota system the country has to make sure that a certain number of the movies in cinemas are domestic products. They think the change to the quota will mean that Hollywood movies will now dominate the market and that the Korean film industry will be damaged. I hope that the Korean movie companies continue to make movies as they often have pretty interesting, off-beat, stories with good production values. It would be a shame to see them get replaced by Hollywood dross.

After discovering Korean movies, I have all but abandoned American dross, as you so well label it.

Haven't looked at an American flick since November, with the exception of "Streets of Fire" 1984.

Nice to know I'm not alone out here with my opinion.

Thanks for great pics!
