Taking its name from the term used by manga publishers to describe boy-on-boy comics, Boys Love deals with the erratic relationship between a journalist and a high school model. The two leads, Kotani Yoshikazu and Saito Takumi, previosuly worked together on The Prince of Tennis. Saito also stars in the forthcoming gay boxing movie Sukitomo.
