Squatting seems to be a popular summer pastime in Japan judging by these pics. Squatting like this is popularly referred to as "unkozuwari" or "shit sitting" as this is how one uses an old-style Japanese toilet. Some claim that squatting like this is good for the kegel muscles which are used during sex -- if so then Japanese should be able to really shoot their stuff.
